ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) in primary schools is a vital role designed to support the emotional well-being of children.

ELSA in Whinstone is provided one-on-one or small group sessions, helping students develop skills such as self-regulation, empathy, and resilience. The focus is on fostering emotional intelligence, where children learn to recognise, understand, and manage their emotions effectively. ELSA supports students dealing with a variety of challenges, including anxiety, bullying, or difficulties with social interactions. By offering a safe, nurturing space with lots of opportunities for play and discussion, ELSA helps children build confidence and emotional strength, ultimately contributing to a positive and supportive school environment.
