READY, RESPECTFUL AND SAFE

At Whinstone, following the Ready, Respectful, and Safe rules helps everyone learn and grow in a positive environment. Being ready means coming to school prepared, listening to instructions, and trying your best in every activity. Being respectful means using kind words, listening to others, and treating teachers, classmates, and school property with care. Being safe means following rules, walking in the corridors, using equipment properly, and looking out for others to prevent accidents. When everyone follows these rules, school becomes a happy, fair, and welcoming place for all!

DOJO REWARDS

In Whinstone, Dojos are used as a positive reward system to encourage good behaviour, effort, and achievement. All staff members can award Dojo points to children for demonstrating positive attitudes, hard work, and kindness. At the end of each half term, the children with the most Dojo points are rewarded with special treats, such as extra OPAL time, a non-uniform day or watch a film together. This system helps to motivate pupils and reinforce positive behaviour throughout the school.

WEEKLY CERTIFICATES IN ASSEMBLY

Each week, staff and Mrs. Batty award special certificates in assembly to recognise children’s hard work, effort, and achievements. This weekly recognition reinforces a culture of praise and motivation, ensuring that hard work and positive behaviour are consistently valued and celebrated throughout the school.

READY, RESPECTFUL, SAFE

Each week, Ready, Respectful, Safe certificates are awarded to children who consistently demonstrate these core values. These certificates recognise pupils who show they are always prepared for learning, treat others with kindness and respect, and follow school rules to keep themselves and others safe.

TIME TO SHINE

Our Time to Shine rewards celebrate children who consistently demonstrate our core values of being ready, respectful, and safe. These are given out every half term to pupils who always follow Whinstone expectations, so are recognised for their positive behaviour and attitude towards learning. Our Time to Shine initiative encourages a positive school environment where all pupils strive to be their best, fostering respect, responsibility, and a safe space for learning and growth.
