Welcome to YEAR 3

In Y3, we pride ourselves on the smooth transition into Key Stage 2.  One of our aims is to ensure that children are confident and motivated to learn more independently. Our Y3 curriculum is designed to serve the needs of all pupils, using a variety of approaches and stimuli, including visits, visitors, theme days and engaging activities.  We are committed to making learning enjoyable in a safe environment protected from harm.  In Year 3, every pupil studies subjects prescribed by the National Curriculum, exploiting cross-curricular links where appropriate.

Our teachers are:

Mrs Craig – Miss Ambrosini – Mrs Woodley – Miss McNaughton – Mrs Scott – Miss Stansmore – Mme Rene

Our teaching assistants are:

Mrs Sanderson – Mrs Woodall – Mrs Smith – Mrs Newlove

Spellings – Spelling Test every Monday – Children are expected to learn their spellings for a test the following Monday.  We send home QR codes for ‘Spelling Shed’ APP if the children would like to play a game to help them with their spellings.

Maths – Homework handed out on Thursday, to be handed in by Tuesday – Children are expected to learn their spellings for a test the following Monday.  We send home QR codes for ‘Spelling Shed’ APP if the children would like to play a game to help them with their spellings.

We are very much looking forward to working with your child and hope that he/she will enjoy their time in Year 3. We work best when there is an effective partnership with parents so, if you have any concerns, or wish to discuss an aspect of your child’s education, please do not hesitate to get in touch. If you wish to pass on a message, we have helpful staff on the entrance to Y3 every morning who will be happy to assist you.
